These terms cover your use of the Bunker app for iPhone, iPad and Mac and of Bunker Pro. By using Bunker you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
These terms are between you and Ad Astra Studios (“we”, “us”), which makes and publishes Bunker. Ad Astra Studios is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
1. Apple’s license agreement
Bunker is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to the Standard EULA; where they conflict, the Standard EULA applies to the extent required. Apple is not responsible for Bunker or its support, and isn’t a party to these terms, but Apple and its subsidiaries have the right to enforce the Standard EULA against you.
2. Your vaults, your keys
Bunker encrypts your vaults on your device with keys made from your Pattern, Passphrase or Recovery Phrase. We never receive these keys. That means:
- You are responsible for your Pattern and your Recovery Phrase. Keep the Recovery Phrase somewhere safe and separate from your device.
- We can’t open, recover or reset a vault. If you forget your Pattern and lose your Recovery Phrase, the vault can’t be opened by anyone, including us.
- Keep backups. Encrypted Backup to your iCloud is free and on by default; turning it off, deleting a vault, using Erase Everything or opening a Duress Vault permanently removes data, as the app explains beforehand (for a Duress Vault, when you set it up).
The protections and limits of Bunker’s security are described on the security page. No software can protect against every threat, including a compromised device or someone who watches you draw your Pattern.
3. Bunker Free and Bunker Pro
Bunker is free to download. The Free tier includes up to 3 Vaults, with 100 photos, 10 videos and 20 documents and notes in total, with Encrypted Backup, the document scanner and the Secure Camera. Receiving a shared vault and being a trusted contact are free.
Bunker Pro removes the item limits and adds Sync, the Duress Vault, creating Vault Sharing links, Legacy Vaults, Slideshow and Alternate App Icons. Bunker Pro is available as:

4. Subscriptions and auto-renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free trial: Pro Yearly includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and $19.99 is charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Managing and cancelling: on iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, click your name again, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Bunker Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Price changes: if a subscription price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before renewing at the new price.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Lifetime purchases and Family Plans
Pro Lifetime and Family Lifetime are one-time purchases that unlock Bunker Pro for as long as Bunker is offered on the App Store, on every device signed in to the Apple Account that bought it. Use Restore in App Settings to unlock it on another device.
Family Yearly and Family Lifetime share Bunker Pro with up to 6 people in your Apple Family Sharing group. Family Sharing shares the purchase only; each person’s vaults stay private to them.
6. When Bunker Pro ends
If your subscription ends, is refunded, or you leave a Family Plan, everything you’ve already set up keeps working: a Duress Vault stays one, your shares stay live, and a Legacy Vault stays published and can still be managed or turned off. You can’t set up new Pro features, Sync stops, and the Free item limits apply to new imports. Items already in a vault are never deleted because Pro ended.
7. Sharing and Legacy Vaults
- Only share content you have the right to share. You are responsible for what you share and with whom.
- Rules you set on a share (expiry, number of opens, saving) are enforced by the Bunker app. Revoking a share stops future access; it can’t take back what someone already opened.
- Legacy Vaults are not a will and don’t make legal decisions. In this version, enough trusted contacts acting together can open a Legacy Vault at any time, including while you are alive. For your estate, speak to a lawyer.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t use Bunker to store or share content that is illegal where you or the recipient live, to harm others, or to break the law. Don’t try to disrupt the services Bunker relies on, or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows. We can’t see your content, but we may stop offering features to anyone who misuses them where we become aware of it.
9. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update Bunker, add or change features, or stop offering it. If we stop offering Bunker, we’ll aim to give notice in the app and on What’s new, and you’ll still be able to open and export your vaults with the version you have. We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
10. Disclaimer and liability
Bunker is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in the Standard EULA, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for data you can’t recover because a Pattern and Recovery Phrase were lost. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute. This doesn’t take away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
